'Swamp People' cast member dies

BELLE RIVER, LA (WAFB)- According to the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office, one of the stars from the History Channel's show "Swamp People" died Monday morning.

According to Sheriff Mike Waguespack, Mitchell Guist was loading something onto a boat along the Belle River in St. Martin Parish when he slipped and fell around 9 a.m.

Waguespack said it appeared he had some sort of seizure, but it is uncertain if the seizure was caused from the fall or something else health related.

Guist was taken to Teche Regional Hospital in Morgan City, where he was pronounced dead.

Officials will have to wait until an autopsy is performed before an official cause of death can be announced.
